The Blue Valley High School Theater department is made up of students of all ages, in classes ranging from Beginning Acting all the way to Advanced repertory theater. The classes are headed by Mr. Jeff Yarnell and Ms. Maureen Davis.

The Blue Valley High School Theater Department is one of the most family-like departments at the school. It is a place where Freshmen through seniors can work together and become friends through the show creating experience. The first step to being a part of the department is taking Beginning acting, which gives you the basic skills and ideas that you will use on stage as an actor. Then the next step would be Advanced acting, where you can fine-tune your acting skills, and work towards auditioning for a Main stage show. (Both are semester long classes.) If acting is not your thing, you can get involved by helping create the sets for the shows in Stage Craft. In that class you will learn skills like painting, using a drill, and setting stage lights. After taking those classes, you can audition into either Repertory theater, or Advanced Repertory theater. In those classes your primary activity in class will be putting on several shows in a year, such as "The Bad Seed" which was put on in 2017.
